The 9th Golden Horse Film Academy, founded by HOU Hsiao-hsien, has selected thirteen filmmakers, including director, screenplay writer and cinematographer, to participate in the one-month training and creative process. They will make short films based on novelist CHEN Bo-ching’s work, and for the first time, the Academy has invited actors CHUANG Kai-hsun and CHENG Jen-shuo to star in the short films.

CHUANG Kai-shun was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the 49th Golden Horse Awards by  Stilt and nominated for Best Leading Actor this year with Who Killed Cock Robin. CHUANG also won the Best Supporting Actor at Taipei Film Awards by Maverick in 2016.

CHENG Jen-shuo was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the 52nd Golden Horse Awards by Thanatos, Drunk and won the Best Performer award at FIRST International Film Festival by The Island That All Flow By this year.

The short film of the Golden Horse Film Academy will screen on November 22nd at Shin Kong Cinemas in Taipei with free admission.
