Nominees of the 53rd Golden Horse Awards is announced on October 1st, with 534 submissions in total (181 feature films, 5 animation feature, 92 documentaries, 194 live action short films and 62 animated short films)

GODSPEED grabs 8 nods, including Best Feature Film, director, leading actor, leading supporting actor, cinematography, art direction, makeup & costume design and original film score.

Other contenders in Best Feature Film category are THE ROAD TO MANDALAY (director, leading actor, leading actress, original screenplay and art direction), THE SUMMER IS GONE (new director, new performer, original screenplay, cinematography and sound effects), TRIVISA (new director, original screenplay, makeup & costume design and film editing) and I AM NOT MADAME BOVARY (director, leading actress, adapted screenplay and original film score).

Nominees of Best Leading Actor are Tony LEUNG Ka Fai (COLD WAR 2), Michael HUI (GODSPEED), Jacky CHEUNG (HEAVEN IN THE DARK), FAN Wei (MR. NO PROBLEM) and Kai KO (THE ROAD TO MANDALAY)

Nominees of Best Leading Actress are HSU Wei-ning (THE TAG-ALONG), FAN Bingbing (I AM NOT MADAME BOVARY), ZHOU Dongyu (SOUL MATE), MA Sichun (SOUL MATE) and WU Ke-xi (THE ROAD TO MANDALAY)

The award of Outstanding Taiwanese Filmmaker of the Year goes to Midi Z, to acknowledge his excellence in both feature film and documentary, as well as how his achievement broadens the horizon of Taiwanese cinema.

All nominated films will be screened at Golden Horse Film Festival starting from November 4th; The 53rd Golden Horse Awards Ceremony will be held on November 26th at National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall in Taipei. Live broadcasting, including red carpet, starts from 17:30 at TTV channel.
